  • JRS JRS on Mar fourteen, 2022

Cut a piece of material from on of your side panels where it won't show go far a couple of inches bigger than the rip get some spray adhesive, spray on the sheet roof and on the patch wait a bit until they are both tacky to the touch and apply the patch to the rip, should hold upward very nicely. Exercise both sides if you feel it needs actress hold. Hope this helps.

    • JRS this sounds so easy. I had no idea I could just patch information technology. Thank you for the great idea.

      Elizabeth.

Building upon what JRS stated. Other than cutting away from a mantle panel y'all could also coordinate or add together to the look using ribbon, patches, replace the panel with a contrasting console using the old as a pattern for the new, What are the sports teams in the area if you lot are fans. Or proceed information technology neutral. Sewing should be rather piece of cake for any of these options. I recommend sewing vs gluing in any case considering I don't retrieve that whatever fabric glue would hold upwards besides long term. You lot could certainly use a glue to become the correct placement earlier sewing.

Some other selection would be to buy a patch kit to keep it simple, link below:

    • Hello Opal, You lot take practiced ideas. I like the jean patch and I think I would run up information technology likewise. Thanks so much for the link yous sent. I am going to see if I can get a patch. :)

      Elizabeth.

  • The hole in mine was on the peak. I used a patch made for jeans that was nearly the aforementioned color and attached information technology with E6000 mucilage. Information technology stayed all summer. I institute some other hole when we took it down. (Snow would crash it) We fixed it the same way earlier we stored it.

    • Meet 2 previous
    • Thanks Judy. I like the maintinance tip. This year I'll take all the tricks in the book to make this gazebo last for years. I wondre how y'all tin can leave the top on in the wintertime. Mine would blow away deck and all. Accept a nice day, Elizabeth.

  • JRS......like that repair solution. Will go on in mind. I accept had my gazebo Like this up over 6years. Simply and so ya know, easy to order replacement canopy online and simply forty.00 and up. i replaced my first one after sheet starts to shred....iii yrs. I'm a single female senior and ordered one that looked close to pic and I hands replaced it by myself. The superlative height unzips or unvelcors and that is where on a ladder you lot start pulling awning on. It was surprisingly like shooting fish in a barrel. Have replaced 2 times no. The cheapest awning last just as long as the more expensive 1 BUT has faded sooner which for me is no big bargain. Proficient luck......Linda

    • Linda, give thanks you for your respond. This is very helpful to me. I as well am a single senior citizen and buying a new top would be the best fixer for me. Yet I never bank check how much information technology would cost. I'grand going to check it out now! If I remember correctly I ripped the cap piece.. I capeesh your aid.

Elizabeth, if you practice replace information technology, be sure to recycle the old fabric. You, or someone else, could use it for outdoor curtains, refinishing/covering outdoor chair seats, cushions, etc. The list goes on. Of form, existence on this site, I suppose you know all this, merely just in case . . .

  • Hi Dee, your simply in case is just what I needed. I never thought to relieve and repurpose the material. I similar making new cushions!!! They volition match the gazebo similar they came with it. I'm on this site to learn how to be a diyer. Thank you for your suggestions!

  • If all else fails world wide web.gardenwinds.com carries replacement canopies for a great deal of gazebos. We had our rip in 2 different spots. Repaired it, merely after a few years the material wore thin and nosotros had to replace information technology. We takes our downwards in the winter as well.

    • Hello Diane, Your reply is very informative. I volition visit the site yous gave me. It's nice to know the repairs you did lasted a few years and that the textile wears thin. Thank you lot, Elizabeth.

If it's a direct tear, I use clear Gorilla Tape. We had company and a sweet lilliputian iii yo was showing us his "sword moves" with a branch from our tree. And OOPS, right through the summit of our canopy. I bought the gorilla tape at Dwelling house Depot for $6 USD. Fast forrad 6 years and the canopy was threadbare and needed replacement (summers are brutal in the desert). The 6" rip with the gorilla tape was still as strong equally the day I put it on!

    • Thank you Lynn. I don't have toddlers around I ripped information technology myself. The gorilla record seems pretty darn strong, yous gave me food for idea. Much appreciated.

      Elizabeth.

  • Once you fix your tear, why not camouflage it by painting a behemothic lady problems over the patch! Everyone volition grinning and see the ladybug, not the tear.

    • What a great idea! That would exist so cute.

      Thanks Kauai, 🐞

  • Go to garden winds and buy repair record.

  • I'll wait into that. I've never heard of repair record. I wonder if that will hold. The rip is on the top and that is pulled tight. I'll see what they take.

    Thank you Cheryl.

  • I too have used clear Gorilla tape on small tears on my gazebo and on an outdoor table umbrella, with cracking results. Works great then inexpensive for what information technology does. Skilful luck!

    • Hi Moczy,

It's nice to know two people take mentioned gorilla tape and swear by it. Give thanks you for your reply.

      ELIZABETH.

  • Lise Lise on Apr 21, 2022

ane year i bought a patch kit for canopies at Joann Fabrics, it worked expert, I as well have a rip in the same gazebo you are showing from the sun subsequently two years, I think it is stretched pretty tight to keep rain from pooling, I call back I am gonna attempt and get through this flavor with the gorilla tape

    • Hello Lise,

i got through one season with the tape merely after that I bought a new tiptop. I gauge the estimated life of my pinnacle will exist two years. I have to say the gorilla tape was very strong and did the job till a terrible windy storm blew through and ripped the canvas where the tape wasn't at. Ha! Thanks for your reply and good luck this year!

  • Talk about timing. A few days agone my neighbor helped straighten out ane of the rods on my gazebo when a tree branch brutal on it last twelvemonth. He and then proceeded to help me put up my awning. As it turned out he didn't put the canopy pocket on the rod and with a large wind that came by the other day ripped a giant hole in my canopy. I looked everywhere to supplant the canopy merely no luck. And then I went to a hardware store and looked around there. To make a long story short I bought Gorilla tape. Information technology'southward not a not bad chore but I'm waiting to meet if this is going to work. Then far it has. Information technology cost me $half-dozen. Maybe worth a try

  • We had a tear on a large patio awning, I repaired it with a thick slice of replacement patching fabric constitute in the notion department attached with waterproof glue and manus painted awning stripes back on the awning. Information technology was successfully repaired and lasted quite a while as long as I lived there.

I would advise you trying to contact your canvases manufacturer -they might be able to supply you with a repair piece for patching.

I as well know that they brand a self-adhesive canvas patching fabric that presses on type - that comes in white merely I'm not certain of the manufacture —this fabric I establish it at a secondhand store.

  • I have had keen luck with iron on patches for my canapy. If you use them or sew on ane be certain to spray with h2o proofing spray one time done. If you order a new pinnacle brand sure information technology is weatherized. Mine was non,

I spent ii days hand waxing it. Best of luck to you.

  • How would you repair this guy?

  • It's and then frustrating! These always end up ripping. I'd look into a camping ground tent repair kit. There's patches etc for this purpose.

  • I would try some of the new articulate duct tapes. They concur up very well confronting the elements (we used them recently on the seats of our pontoon) and are cheap. Good Luck!

  • Perchance try to patch with some actress material
